Below is my current setup but man did it take a long time to get here. While writing this I definitely feel like my setup was cuter at other times but I have a lot of peripherals that are a little more utilitarian. When I first started playing games I did not know there were mousepads for gaming, I had no idea how to pick a mouse, and I sure as hell didn’t know anything about PC’s. Let’s take a trip down memory lane…

My First Setup Ever

- Cyberpower Mousepad that came with a PC
- Random Keyboard???
- Random Office 60 Hz Monitor
For the Mouse + Headset, I actually used stuff straight from a box too but don’t have images of those… Featured here are:
- Logitech Lightspeed G733 Headset
- Logitech G203 wired Mouse
Wow… so many thoughts on this first setup. I literally just wanted to play osu which was semi doable for the 2 star player I was at the time. The monitor I used here would creak and crow if I moved it at all it was so so old. At least my keyboard had RGB?
The Second Setup: I Chose a Theme

- Dell 144 Hz Monitor
- Custom Royal Kludge Keyboard my brother made me
- Glorious Mouse
- Random Amazon blue mic??
- Butterfly light from Target
- Phone Stand from Amazon
Okay okay okay I made a few upgrades. My brother gave me his old mouse and I apparently chose a Sage teal theme. I was starting to be expressive with how my setup looked and got a monitor for my birthday.
The Third Setup: Okay Now I Was Cooking

- Artisan Zero XL Soft Mousepad
- HyperX Quadcast Mic
- Nanoleaf Panels
- Samsung 244 Hz monitor
Up until this point I was playing on a hand-me-down 720 GPU insanely old horrible horrible PC. I have no idea how I played on it, it genuinely blows my mind. Finally I decided to invest in a PC and I thought hey, if I’m investing in a PC I might as well invest in a whole cute setup. The friends I were making taught me what a real mousepad was and gave me mic recommendations. I even started streaming.
The Fourth Setup: Mounting

- Steel Series Artic Nova 7 Wireless headset
No idea how I made it this far in my gaming journey without mounting my monitors. Without a doubt if you play any fps or shooter, please invest in mounting your monitors. It is absolutely life changing you don’t even understand. Outside of mounting my monitors I really only changed the theme of my setup to a nice orange and less Valorant related theme.
My Current Setup

- Razer Viper V2 Pro Mouse
- Shure Purple IEMs
- Wooting Keyboard
All of these evolutions have lead to this: my most utilitarian setup yet. I still think it is cute but far from those aesthetic setups you see on Pinterest. I have the greatest keyboard ever now, a smooth mousepad, perfect mouse for me, and more.
I love the setup I have now because everything works so well. Every single peripheral I have works for me and allows me to have fun in every game that I play. I hope this shows that we all start somewhere and slowly over time can invest in the hobbies that we love to create your dream setup.
