The gaming community is alive and well on X (formerly twitter). X includes the latest posts with gamers looking for duos, content creators sending out stream notifications, esports players creating LFT posts, and game-specific accounts giving the latest updates on patches, skins, esports, and more. This guide is meant to show you how to create a personal or professional brand that will set you apart. Whether your goal is to find like minded players, increase your following, or show potential teams your talent, X is the place to be for gamers.
Essentials
Casual
- bio: brief bio displaying personality. maybe a quote, symbols, brief summary of games you enjoy, etc.
- age/pronouns: safety online is important and your age, especially if you are a minor, is commonly found in the bio. feel free to include your pronouns if you want to!
- coordinating pfp and banner: these are going to determine the vibe of your personal brand. people do anything from a picture of them to anime characters to characters that they resonate with to many other things. Pinterest is a good place to look for icons that speak to you. Matching a banner can be tricky and takes some trial and error. You can even create a custom one in Canva
Content Creators
- contact info: absolutely imperative to have. If a brand wants to work with you and they can’t find your contact info they will move on to someone else. Make yourself as easily accessible as possible. Commonly a brand email.
- bio: include the games you play or if you play a lot of different ones put variety.
- coordinating pfp and banner: Put in some effort in to developing your visual brand. From colors to fonts this has to be synonymous with all your other socials. Make sure there are easy ways for people to identify you as well as find your other socials.
- links: Include a link! Maybe a service like Linktree to have a link to multiple links or socials is a good idea for you. If a streaming service like twitch is your main thing include that.
- pinned: utilize your pinned tweet to introduce yourself to anyone coming to your page.
Esports Players
- achievements: maybe this is a rank or top 500, maybe it’s a statistic, maybe it’s a tournament placement. Anything notable put it here.
- contact info: Absolutely imperative to have just like content creators. Just make sure your dms are open for any teams or brands to reach out.
- pfp and banner: I argue that the banner is far more important than the pfp but both are important to building your identity. Just make sure it is cohesive.
Content Ideas
Casual
- Clips you love! Show off your gameplay.
- Content for casual players is much more personal and can include anything you want it to. Just make it like you !
Content Creators
- Clips from stream
- Commenting on metas or tech within a game

Esports Players
- Montage or Clips: make sure to blur compositions or usernames from clips in scrims. Be really carefully with scrim clips as to not leak important info.
- Engage in the community. Comment on metas.
- LFT post
- LFT (Looking For Team) is a common post players will make when they want to join a team. They will typically include rank/ peak rank, roles, achievements, and often a link to tracking statistic websites. You can research groups to join or #’s to get on certain accounts that have large lists of LFT players. It is common to write likes and retweets appreciated somewhere in the post to get your followers or former teammates/ coaches to comment and interact. If anyone wants a more detailed post about writing an LFT let me know in the comments.
General Points
- feel free to look at other profiles if you need inspiration. There is nothing wrong with liking something someone else did and making it your own.
- remember everyone can look at everything you do if they want. Based on your goals make sure your profile and content contain what you would want your audience (brands, friends, teams) to see
