When I first saw this game I was overwhelmed by it’s cuteness and excited by the bunny and bakery theme. Because come on… who doesn’t want to be a bunny that runs a bakery.
Cinnabunny is described by the dev, Patrick Gauthier, as “a cute couch co-hop game focused on running a bakery and living in a village with fellow buns. Drawing inspiration from games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, Cinnabunny is meant to be a relaxing, cozy experience designed for gamers and non-gamers alike. It can be played by one or two players”. There are so many things to love about this game as I’ll describe below.

Before we get into it I suggest taking a look at the settings. I increased my FOV to 103 match what I am used to in Valorant. There are plenty of settings in there including audio that you may want to adjust before you set out on your bunny adventure.
When you first load into the game you start in your home town with your family. You are able to customize your bun by looking clicking on a mirror then you are asked to do a few chores by “Mama bun” and “Papa bun”. After completing these chores that show a few basic actions in the game the story begins. You are asked by “Mama bun” to go discover another village and create a new home as their water supply is running dry. It is your job to learn to bake for the town in order to save up enough carrots (money) to move your family to the new town.

You start out with a very quant bakery. To start, you have a flour mill, recipe station, place to roll out dough and can bake one item at a time in your oven (yes you bake standing up… it is so cute). Over time as you unlock achievements you get new recipes and equipment like an oat milk press! The baking works by clicking certain patterns on your keyboard’s arrow keys. Recipe discovery takes some time as you gift baked goods to the town’s buns they will tell you what they like. When you bake them something they like they will grant you new recipes and equipment.
To get the ingredients to bake you will be planting, growing, and sowing wheat and other crops. The farming is very simple as well as the baking making this a very relaxing game. There are plenty of tasks to accomplish and things to learn without it being stressful. To keep track of all the buns preferences there is a notes section next to where your tasks are where you can note preferences for each bun.

There are several cute activities within the game such as:
- Birdwatching
- Mushroom collecting
- Stretching classes
- Swimming
The music in this game is very relaxing as well as the hopping sounds of the bunnies. It gives a Minecraft feel to me as the bunnies move through the grass. A cute touch I noticed was that there is a market at the center of the town and the bunnies who work there go to work from around 9 am to 5 pm. How cute!
The town isn’t too large but it does take a while to get everywhere. Your bunny hops at one speed so don’t expect to complete tasks all over town very quickly. However I will say, games like this aren’t designed to speed run. It’s designed for you to enjoy each task and the journey rather than the destination.
Anyone looking for a relaxing game full of cuteness and simple tasks will enjoy this game. It also seems like it would be super fun to complete coop!
You can find the game on Steam for 24.99. The developer has hopes of bringing the game to other platforms but are unsure and will probably be based on how successful it’s release is today. I have been trying to find a cute game to play solo because most of my games are team based so I will be playing this to decompress. If you give Cinnabunny a try let me know what you think!
