Steam is having a Winter Sale through January 2nd so I decided to peak around and see if there was anything I’ve been wanting to try. I love cooking and so when I saw the game Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator on sale, I knew I had to try it. The game has some fun features that I will go through below.

When you first load in you get to do my favorite thing in every game which is customizing your character. They have a bit of variety here but nothing too complex. It only took a few minutes to create the character I wanted with hair, outfit, build, etc. Once you have created your character you cannot go back and edit it, or at least you can’t as far as I have gotten in the game.

From here they highly suggest you run through the tutorial and so do I. Before running through the tutorial I had no idea how complex this game was going to get. For me this game gets extremely detailed. The tutorial goes into depth on the first few days before your restaurant opens. You are joined by an associate in which you went to culinary school with as well as meeting the delivery girl. The tutorial teaches you how to use the recipe book, work your way around the kitchen and it’s various tools, create a menu, order the ingredients you need while budgeting, and more. Everything you would expect in running a restaurant is included in this game. There are even options to change the difficulty by making it so customers never get frustrated and you can just relax and play the game.

As for my opinion on the game… I think it could be a fun game to grind out but definitely takes some time to get the hang of. If you are looking for a simple game this is not it. It really is super super detailed in all the tasks. Though I am only a few hours in I am sure that once you learn how everything works and get the restaurant going it could be really fun to play or stream. As for me, you will catch me grinding out Marvel Rivals.
